The effects of the exotics are unique but not extremely powerful since the idea behind them is to give you a special unique weapon or armor that allows you to make a different build and approach the Behemoth in a different way.

The Hunger and Prismatic have unique special abilities, different from the normal War Pike and the normal Sword and you can’t change the abilities of these.

However, the Molten Edict it completely changes the hammer blast attacks you do with your hammer and introduces you new once that you can use and to change the way you play with it.

Do not expect the exotics will be overpowered you and be better than the rest of the weapons and armors. They are exotics, they are not legendaries.
